Sheron Cardin's Input...: "It Did Not Come To Stay"

I have been an interior designer for over 27 years and I have always taught my clients the principles I used while decorating their home so they may enjoy decorating too. The home staging trend in residential real estate is a great way to reach more people every day and what I enjoy the most is they are learning the basics of good design through staging. It is my dream for every person to know the joy and pride of living in a decorated home.

"It Did Not Come To Stay"

Every once in awhile I need a boost...a reminder of how wonderful life is today. I don't know I need it until it appears. Yesterday I was making the adjustments to my everyday life after spending a glorious week in Seattle.

More times than not, my little Costco monthly newsletter has provided me with either business information that I specifically need for that moment, or a web address that I need, or even a "boost".  Every month I hang onto the newsletter until I take the time to read it and sure enough...not knowing I needed a boost, there it was;

When the going gets tough...by Wally Amos. (Famous Amos) Here is what he said in the first paragraph:

The Bible says, "It came to pass." And as the late Unity minister Eric Butterworth said, "It came to pass, it did not come to stay; it came to pass."

Boy I needed to hear that and maybe you do too.

The rest of the paragraph goes like this...History has proven this to be a very true statement. Everything that ever was has passed. One day we too will pass. It is important for us to remember that truth during these so-called turbulent times, which are no more or less turbulent that times past.

God Bless!

Namaste

I like that quote, Sheron.  "It" never stays.  If only we can remember that in the low times.

Exactly Todd - when I write down what I need it does appear when I need it if I do it often enough. It is called the feed back loop.

I love Famous Amos. I had posted awhile back something else from him. He was talking about time management and suggested to never touch a piece of paper twice. OMG that is very difficult to do but every time I handle a project immediately, I think of Amos and how right he was with that advice. Of course it is impossible but the successes do come in small bits and pieces.

Kelly - I like what you said..."my heart is eager for this time to pass". That is exactly it! Thank you for putting words to it.

Sheron, lovely words to keep in mind.  I am not eager for these times to pass but they will---and to even happier times I'm sure.  Every time I ask "does it get better then this?" it does :)

Thanks for the reminder.  By the way, before I was in Real Estate, we were looking to buy a house and went into this one that I will never forget.  Why the agent had the open house anyway is beyond my comprehension because it was disgusting.  Filthy bathrooms, coke cans all over the floors, spilled stuff on the carpets, etc.  That agent did not sell that house but she would have, had she used a stager.

Hi Christi - I think that agents were stuck with what they had and now there is a choice. I believe that agents sell better when they are proud of their products. Thanks for sharing.

It's very difficult when you are going through something that you really want to pass and it seems like it never will.  I think about the song that says God on the mountain is still God in the valley and I especially like the line that goes, God in the day is still God through the night.  Very comforting to know that God is there "through the night" when it can feel like the darkest time of all and it's difficult to remember that it will pass.

Donna - it sounds like you have had some rough times and your faith has brought you through. What I have now that I have never had before was someone to share mine with. I am not in a serious place, I just really want change and continually see more thinking must be done. I appreciate your kindness.

it came to pass, but did not come to stay...

Great... now what do I do with those things that refuse to leave...?

Hey tall Paul - are they people or issues that won't leave? I have found that I can do very little about the people but they do change too...eventually. Issues??? I am a master...just ask.
Posted by Sheron Cardin, ARTIST - A Home Stager/Sellers Best Friend! (California Moods Inc) over 12 years ago

tall Paul, eh?

I was just talking... I really dont have any "things" that wont leave, once I want them to...

How tall are you, huh? Me, I am 6'3" and about 230lbs

I always think of the song 'Tall Paul, he's my all' by (I think) Annette Funicello. Me? 5'5" and  one hundred something or other...

And WANT is the key. When we want something to happen or stop happening, the emotions behind the words is the POWER. Thanks for stopping by and sharing. If you really WANT to get to know some rainers with substance, drop in on us at American Bandstand.

wow, that's a comment that gives food for thought.  If we would just learn to accept the now and stop hanging on so tight what better people we would be.

Thanks for shaing this thought.
