Sheron Cardin's Input...: (((BAM!))) THAT'S WHAT EMERIL WOULD SAY IF HE WERE AN AGENT.

I have been an interior designer for over 27 years and I have always taught my clients the principles I used while decorating their home so they may enjoy decorating too. The home staging trend in residential real estate is a great way to reach more people every day and what I enjoy the most is they are learning the basics of good design through staging. It is my dream for every person to know the joy and pride of living in a decorated home.

(((BAM!))) THAT'S WHAT EMERIL WOULD SAY IF HE WERE AN AGENT.

EMERIL LAGASSE

THE HOUSING MARKET IS BROKEN SO HOW DO WE FIX IT?

"KICK IT UP A NOTCH" AS EMERIL LAGASSE WOULD SAY ON HIS FOOD TV NETWORK SHOW;  ((((((BAM!))))))

What does Emeril do when he is given a boring slab of chuck roast? (He would never serve it to his customers like that, ever!) He kicks it up a notch of course! HE ADDS HIS FIVE SPICE, ONION, CARROTS, BELL PEPPERS, GARLIC, BASIL, BAY LEAVES, SALT, FRESH GROUND PEPPER, HOT CRACKED PEPPER FLAKES, A LITTLE BRANDY, AND WHATEVER ELSE IT WOULD TAKE TO MAKE THIS PIECE OF MEAT ((((((BAM))))) WORTHY!

What do you do when you are given a less than exciting piece of real estate? KICK IT UP A NOTCH AND ((((((BAM))))))

NOW YOU GOT IT!   (((((STAGED!)))))

Do it yourself or hire it done but what ever you do, get it ((((((STAGED!))))))

Sheron, I love the correlation that you made up there!  Very creative blog post!  I think staging can definitely help people and it should most definitely be considered when selling a home in any circumstance!

Sheron,

That'll work. Emeril is the man. He sure can make an ordinary dish look and possibly taste like a gourmet product, so why not hire him to dress up a house. Packaging a product properly is vital, as he knows. Nice comparison.

It's all about attitude, isn't it?? Emeril has the right attitude, and he's incredibly energetic. Loved this post. Keep doing what you do.

Andrew - it was fun when it occurred so glad you enjoyed it too.

Laura - we are on the same page!

Esko - nice name...and thank you!

Vincent - it is about attitude and you've got it!

Barbara - thank YOU for stopping by and letting me know you liked it.

Pamela - somehow your comment was deleted and I truly apologize for that. I know Emeril made you hungry and your comment was very nice and generous. Again...I must have accidently clicked while moving around or something like that.

Sheron...You must be an expert in home staging.  It was entertaining and it caused me to think about the "presentation" of food, homes, and more.  Very nice job and much success to you!  :)

Oh dear, it sounds like I am bragging ;-0 That is not my intention...

Let's just say that taking a few lessons from Emeril will do us all some good. His enthusiasm for 'kicking it up a notch' has kicked him a notch above the rest! Isn't that where we all want to be?

Sheron - I love the analogy!  I just got an AH-HA moment.  I love to cook and stage.  As my husband always says about my cooking...."It looks great!"  and I always say "I can make anything look great, let's see how it tastes"! :)  Thanks for getting the word out...stage, stage or stage.

Janice - you remind me of a pasta dish I made during the holidays...fettuccine smothered in three white cheeses dashed with pimentos and basil for the red and green. My significant other at the time said and I quote "I don't know if I should eat it or take a picture of it". We all fell on the floor laughing. BTW, it was to die for delicious! Can't eat like that now :(

Stagers are born...not created!

Hi Sheron. Yes, it made me very hungry! :) Not a problem. I have been trying to field more questions about staging. I have had some requests to post before and after photos.
