Sheron Cardin's Input...: The "Tax Club" and Right Brained People.

I have been an interior designer for over 27 years and I have always taught my clients the principles I used while decorating their home so they may enjoy decorating too. The home staging trend in residential real estate is a great way to reach more people every day and what I enjoy the most is they are learning the basics of good design through staging. It is my dream for every person to know the joy and pride of living in a decorated home.

The "Tax Club" and Right Brained People.

I know that Maureen Henry is in love with her Quick Books" and I wouldn't want to take that away from her, but for me, I have tried every program out there for many of my businesses and get stuck. So 2 years ago I hired The Tax Club in New York and it is easier than a second helping of chocolate cake. I swear! Creative people are renowned for not being the best at running a business and even less at doing their own taxes.

The Tax club has an initial set up fee and then after that a small monthly charge. They take care of your personal and business taxes all for one little itty bitty price. I love them. Their program is interative all on the Internet. If you should sign up with them, tell them I sent you. There is a referral incentive of one free month per referral and that would work for you too. Don't get me wrong, I am not posting this to send referrals. I know that when you get busy the left side of the brain takes a back seat.

Stage it forward!

If you live in California and you're recommending a company in New York, it has to be a great thing.  Thanks.

Tina, they are in the Empire State Building. They found money last year that I got back and it was thousands more than what I expected. Worth looking into for sure!

I have to check it out Sheron!  Who do you ask if you have tax questions that are specific to CA?  I Right now I have an accountant that is in MD but I live in VA so he does not know VA law 100%.  I am going to switch this year.

I usually just let my tax guy take care of myself. For the price he charges me, I think he's very reasonable. No quick books for me either.... Just a plain simple spreadsheet tied with many, many worksheets into a summary sheet.

My experience with Money was enough to tell me it's more than I really want.

Thanks for sharing this Sheron.  I printed their brochure and will definitely be signing up for their free consultation.  Sounds like a service that I can definitely appreciate!

Interesting Sheron - I have a bookeeper that picks my books up once a month so I don't have to deal with posting checks and balancing a check book!  Yes, I am that busy and can do it but just don't want to deal with it.  At the end of the year my bookeeper hands me a disk with my entire year on there to hand to my CPA.  Are you saying that "The Tax Club" does somethig similar to this?

Hi George - first of all...I bank online so I don't balance anything. What the tax club does is provide you with an interactive online account and you will enter yours expenses and you go...the end of every month...or the end of the year (thats me) and the program prompts you with questions. you answer them. There is someone to talk to year limit...they send you your papers, you sign for personal, business, stage...that is it. Check them out! They were recommeded to me by Mark Victor Hansen's people.

I don't know who you are working with because I have had just the opposite  experience.   I had had an tax adviser do my tax work for years. They retired so I looked for another.  The Tax Club called and so I gave them a try.  They were nothing short of a scam.  Big on promise small on delivery. All they did was to try to sell additional services at inflated prices.  They wanted to charge 6500 to form a Nevada Corp. I was told the filing fees alone were over $1,000.  NOT TRUE look for your self.  Nevada charges less than $100 for their fees.  When confronted they said I was wrong so I e-mailed them the Nevada Secretary of State web page showing them the fees. To this they said, "Oh".  How can you take advice from a company that lies to you up until  you prove them wrong and they they still do not accept it or give you a bunch of BS on all the service they are providing? THIS IS NOT A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY!

They do try to sell you a lot of services up front, but I did not go for that. I pay $202 a year for my corporation fees in Nevada...they set up my corp for $1200 and I pay the annual fees directly. My business and personal tax set up fee was $500 and now I pay $49.95 a month and they do both taxes at the end of the year through a virtual tax program and on the phone. That is it. No more fees or charges...and I have had huge refunds because of their work and the refunds alone will pay for all the set up fees several times over. So sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

Ah, Sheron, I HATE tax time.  I deal with my accountant and she has the patience of a Saint in figuring it all out for me!  Thanks for the information, though, I will keep it in mind if she ever leaves :)

Hi Debbie,

I am not sure what you are asking but I do understand what you wrote. It really has nothing to do with taxes but I do see that bingo is your way of sharing a positive experience and want it to continue. Good luck

OMG you were the last to comment on this old post and I missed it. I do apologize. This was written right around the time I was melting from the heat in August. Sorry and thank you for your comment.
